Larry Fitzgerald went on 620 KTAR radio today at the Cardinals training facilities in Flagstaff, Ariz., and was asked about fellow wideout Lance Long

“I love Lance Long … as a football player, as a person, as a friend.” Fitzgerald said. “He’s an amazing young man. He does everything you ask him to do. He’s coachable, he’s reliable, dependable, anything positive you want from a football player, he embodies it. He’s got all the skills, (but) he’s (not) experienced. But that’s something he’s only going to get from playing in games.

“I just hope this preseason he’s able to show everybody what we’ve been seeing for a long time.”

In his first NFL preseason last year, Long played in all four games for the Cards, caught five passes for 64 yards, including four in the finale before being cut. He spent the entire season on the Cards’ practice squad.
