It was hot and humid at Vikings camp in Mankato, Minn. on Thursday, and running backs — including our player On The Fringe, Ian Johnson — were on coach Brad Childress‘ mind.

“I really like our guy from Iowa, Albert Young. He has really done a good job from a standpoint of physically, got tools, and mentally in our passing game,” Childress said as he addressed the media Thursday. “Ian (Johnson) also, Kahlil (Bell) has taken a back step a little bit just in terms of not being out there in the backfield and I don’t know much about Antone (Smith).

“I like our group right now and like (running backs coach Eric Bieniemy) has talked about in our nighttime meetings. It’s as good of group of guys since he has been here.”
