    In his absence, the receiving corps underwent a dramatic makeover. Gone are Amani Toomer and Plaxico Burress. Promoted to the starting positions are Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon. Newly arrived are highly-touted rookies Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden. Add in Mario Manningham and Sinorice Moss, plus Derek Hagan, who has played well in training camp and can perform many of the same special teams functions at which Tyree has traditionally excelled, and it is widely assumed that Tyree is fighting for his survival on the Giants’ roster.

Having gone without a catch in the Giants’ preseason opener against the Panthers, Tyree will hope for better when the Giants visit Chicago to play the Bears on Saturday. Full story …
