The NFL’s manadated cut to 75 players is Tuesday, two days after the New York Giants’ third preseason game. Wide receiver David Tyree has been ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury.

“What an awful summer he’s having,” Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News writes on his Twitter page. “He may be out of chances.”

In a live chat Friday afternoon on NFL.com, senior analyst Pat Kirwan was asked to offer his thoughts on what might happen with Tyree, who is fighting for a roster spot with the only NFL team he has played for since being drafted in 2003.

Kirwan acknowledged that Tyree might not stick with the Giants, and he offered two possible landing spots for the Super Bowl XLII hero.

“Tyree is on the bubble,” Kirwan said. “If and when he’s cut, he’ll be signed within 24 hours. He can really help the Ravens or the Jets. The Ravens need one more guy, and the Jets are really starving for an experienced receiver.”

If Giants WR David Tyree is cut, possible teams that could bring aboard include the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets. (Evan Pinkus / Associated Press)
